This will be a unique opportunity to see 20 local and international bloggers, authors and professionals on the same stage, passionately talking about food and its power.
Each morning of Sep. 2, 3, 4 there will be a round table where the speakers will share their ideas, points of view and philosophies about the universal meaning of food and its influence on their lives and careers. Their experiences and personal anecdotes will bring these celebrities closer to us, after all, food is a universal and personal concept.
To make the round tables accessible by the greater audience and allow all the speakers to actively participate, the event will be bilingual: the guests or our interpreters will translate into English or Italian what's being said.
We thought it was of paramount importance to organize a real international event to share Turin, Piedmont and its culinary wealth with all the non-natives, to finally make all the foodies and wine lovers aware of what we have here.
In the afternoons following the round tables, there will be an interesting program:
- on Sep. 2, local author Giuseppe Culicchia and actress Federica Mafucci will perform a reading from Giuseppe Culicchia's book Sicilia, o cara.; this is a sentimental journey to his father's native land, where the stories he was told growing up took life during his summer vacations. Giuseppe suggested a reading from this specific book because it is full of flavors, aromas, perfumes and scents, all summed up at the end with some authentic Sicilian recipes.
The reading will be in Italian only.
- speaking of recipes, on Sep. 3, there will be a cooking class taught by Benedetta Oggero, aka Miss Bee, a Britalian food lover and food professional. Benedetta will teach us some traditional and contemporary Piedmont recipes totally made with products donated by our local producers!
This cooking class will be in both English and Italian, it'll take place at Citta' Del Gusto, it will be concluded with a glorious dinner where we'll eat what we have just learned and it's open to the public upon reservation.

- as producers and local products are one of today's pivotal topics, on Sep. 4, American documentary director Mara Le Grand will show us her documentary Heart & Soil about the return to sustainable agriculture in the US.
The documentary is in English without subtitles.
For all of you who won't be able to make it to Turin for the 2014 edition, stay tuned as we'll let you know when the round tables will be uploaded online for you to watch from home.
This is such a tremendous opportunity to discover Italy's best kept secret Turin, Piedmont, its culinary traditions and the recently inscribed UNESCO vineyards. So, mark Turin Epicurean Capital down, for your next trip to Italy!
