Chef Justin Yip and pastries

This 8th edition of Turin Epicurean Capital has been a rich one as it came double to celebrate the Italian victory 🏆 of the Euro 2020 ⚽

For turinepi21 we decided to share some of the turinepi experiences our guests enjoy when they come over to Turin and live the city like locals.

Our first local expert was Malaysian - Australian - now Turinese 😎 chef, Justin Yip who came over to Piedmont to study at the Slow Food university of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo more than 10 years ago, before moving to Turin and starting his own business Sate & Sake 🍖

Justin has traveled around Italy extensively, he's missing just a couple regions and most of all, he is very knowledgeable about the broad Italian and Piedmontese food and wine culture!

Chatting he explained how he makes zabajone and what his favorite fresh pastries from Turin are: mini fruit pies with pastry cream and fresh fruit, chantilly or cream puffs, chocolate mushrooms and our Northern Italian cannolis 😋

We couldn't resist and filmed in Italian too so that all our amici who are in love with our bella lingua and locality can get to know Justin, his story and learn why he's so in love with Turin and our local specialties. New Italian words and expressions, like 'a misura d'uomo', and culinary topics in Italian always take on a new decadent flavor 😍

Amici enjoy and update your bucketlist ✈
